I grew up on set, babysat by PAs, while my dad Bill Scarlet, directed commercials on the Universal Back Lot in LA. Production was in my blood, before I even knew it. 

The summer between junior & senior year at Albion College circa 08’, I was looking for work. It just so happened, that the Michigan film incentive was kicking in and my dad connected me with a 2nd AD in Detroit. I interviewed for a PA position for a Lifetime movie called Prayers for Bobby, starring Sigourney Weaver. You betcha I wore a power suit to that interview. And then all of a sudden, I found myself on the set of a movie in a rain scene, kneeling down in front Sigourney Weaver, stuffing foot warmers in her classy high heels while looking up at her, realizing movie magic was real. I’ve been hooked ever since.

I truly and utterly love production and the work I do. Grinding on set for 15 years gives you a certain type of 'hustler mentality.'  My work ethic is intense and detailed, meaning I can handle multiple responsibilities in high-stress situations, all the while keeping a positive and fun attitude. Cause we gotta have fun right?

I currently split my time between film & commercial work.

FILM - Film is where my heart resides. I love being of service to directors & producers, sharing information about Minnesota’s competitive film incentives with key knowledge about filming in Northern Minnesota’s Iron Range. I offer project reviews with budget consultation or can build initial film budgets via MM Budgeting. I love living in the line items making sure we are not only accounting for all the needs of a project, but to make sure we’re strategically maximizing on incentives.

In prep I can assist with vendor & local municipality relationships, crew/location resourcing and incentive navigating. Dependent on each project, I can hold roles as a line producer, UPM, creative producer or consultant to make sure folks coming to MN feel supported. As a member of the Minnesota Film Alliance, bringing films to Minnesota is the goal but it’s through intentional relationships with a focus on invested economical growth for local communities and expanding the MN workforce. Films coming to any community is an exciting experience, but a part of my personal mission is to care about the longevity & future growth of the film industry in my state with a solid conscious foundation.

COMMERCIAL - As an agency producer (EP or Senior), I work with multiple departments, tasked to streamline the needs of clients plus the desires of creatives in order to produce the most successful outcome. I am always striving to challenge myself, professionally and personally to become a better producer and a better human being.

Nowadays, I find myself working remotely from the northern woods of Minnesota, with my city base being Minneapolis - love the Twin Cities! My partner (Ghost Landscapes) & I are road warrior travelers aka successful digital nomads.

Living in a National Forest, we’ve become apart of the delicate eco-system. Being a safe sanctuary to our neighborhood wild red fox Sanford, a gang of deer including a baby buck named Prince, and an endangered flying squirrel named Oscar. We’ve become bird people with our Merlin App and have a family of bald eagles on our street. I love yoga, reading, embroidering and meditation to calm the mind. I’m an avid cook, aka a tornado in the kitchen with some pretty delish outcomes.
